According to an old myth, the ancient Egyptians would sing to the lotus flower at the Feast of the Lotus. During this feast, guests would hold a silver pot, shaped like a lotus flower with a burning candle in the middle.
Guests would head to the Nile, with the pot in their hand and a dream in their hearts. It was believed that if the flame continued to burn for the duration of the meal their dream would eventually come true.
